Hi Dodge
Very nice. I am glad you finally got some help at the ER. It is so sad what we Lupies have to go throught just to get some help. The doctors are clueless. They never understand. I have had my share of problems and I am still going through it. I recently have fired my rheumatologist for a new guy. The new doctor seems nice, but i am still feeling him out. I have my second appointment with him on the 28th of this month. However, after the appointment, if I am not satisfiied with him, I have plans to go to the big Lupus hospital for treatment. It is in London. I heard they do real well there. Hang in there, it has got to get better for all of us. Oh, and I want several “It’s a Lupus thing” shirts. Also, I didnt see you store.

I loved reading your story. You and I have some things in common. I’m also a Pagan and I’m a Lesbian. My partner of almost 39 years and I had a civil union here in NJ last year and trust me, civil unions mean little. Nothing can be completely equal and yet called something else. That’s wrong. I’m not a Lupie officially…yet. I’ve been tested several times and my ANA has always come back negative. My Rheumy said there’s no way I have it. She said I have Fibro. I also have a negative RA Factor. But, for the last several years I have had a high SED RATE and C Reactove Protein and after my most recent test, both are even higher. I think she’s going to have to address it and dig a little deeper this time. Problems is I have no health insurance and can’t get on my partners insurance because we’re not “married”. Her employer doesn’t insure civil union spouses. I had spoken to the doctor about me going on disability and she said yes that I do qualify. After I see her next week I’m getting a lawyer to handle that for me.
You have a great blog and it was nice “meeting” you and Rod.
Take care and be well.
